The month of December is here again! My favourite month of the year! This is the time where I can shop in liberty with minimal restraints. I love shopping, getting gifts for my loved ones. To me, it is always a blessing to give then to receive.
December is also a popular month for weddings. Why?
1) School teachers usually choose to get married in the month of December. This is the longest holiday they are entitled to for the entire year. They do have Annual Leave like any salaried workers, but those can only be ultised on a urgent basis such as death of immediate family or marriage. Yet who in the right mind will take urgent leave for 2-3 days just to get married and then have to go back to face the mountains of backlog markings?
2) The workload in December across most (i won't say all) industry lessens as everyone enters into this goody roody holiday mood. Parents start clearing leave to bring their family for vacation during this school holiday. The number of physical staff reporting to work drops by 20 - 30%. Pace of work inevitablely slows down and so does the stress from deadlines. More importantly, long leaves get approved more easily :)
3) Valentine Day is a cliche yet still popular day to pop the sacred question. Going by the amount of planning a couple need for their big day, December sounds like a good month. Keep everything settled within the same year!
How about you? Have you start planning for your wedding?
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
